Onward...Upward

What an exciting time it’s been for Covington Schools! The last few weeks have truly reminded me why I love serving this community and being part of the important work we’re doing for our young people.

We recently celebrated the groundbreaking of the brand-new softball field at Glenn O. Swing Elementary—what a proud moment for our students, families, and staff. It’s more than just a field—it’s a symbol of investment in our schools, in our girls, and in the future of our community.

We also gathered to honor our incredible retirees—those who dedicated their careers to educating, mentoring, and uplifting generations of Covington students. Their legacy lives on in the classrooms they filled with care, wisdom, and patience.

And let’s not forget the inspiring work of Educate NKY. Their partnership and ideas have given us fresh energy and clear direction, especially in finding ways to engage our children at an earlier age. That early investment is key to long-term success, and it’s exciting to feel the momentum building.

Speaking of excitement—I’m especially proud of our upcoming graduating class. Watching these students prepare to take their next steps into the world reminds us that our work is making a difference. We are truly moving forward, and I’m seeing that momentum carry us in the right direction—toward helping our kids become more engaged, empowered learners.

But let me be clear—we’re not done. This isn’t the finish line. These are just the first steps on a long road of continuous growth and improvement. And with that journey comes change, learning, and bigger goals ahead.

So buckle in. We’re just getting started. And as always, I’m here—not just to support, but to help drive and facilitate positive change for every child in our district.
