As we embark on a new and exciting school year, I want to take a moment to reflect on where we’ve been, where we are, and where we’re going as a district.
Over the last two years, we’ve seen encouraging signs of progress that give us hope and momentum for the work ahead. While there is always more to do, these bright spots remind us of the resilience of our students, the dedication of our educators, and the unwavering support of our families and community. Together, we have planted seeds that are beginning to take root.
This year is especially meaningful because we will spend it celebrating 200 years of public education here in Covington. For two centuries, our community has recognized the value of education and invested in the success of its young people. As we honor this milestone, we also recognize our responsibility to build on that legacy and ensure that the next generation has even greater opportunities to learn, grow, and thrive.
Looking ahead, we know that sustaining and expanding our progress will require strong, visionary leadership. As a district, we are preparing for a new chapter of leadership in the coming year, leadership that will not only build upon the foundation we’ve established but also carry forward the bold initiatives we have set in motion.
Key among these initiatives are our Master Facility Plan and our District Strategic Plan. These are not just documents on paper, but roadmaps for growth and transformation serving as guide to how we invest in our buildings, classrooms, and most importantly, in our students’ futures. Both plans were developed with community input, and both reflect our shared belief that every student deserves a safe, modern, and inspiring learning environment.
As we step into this historic school year, I remain committed to ensuring that the positive strides we’ve made continue, and that our district is well-positioned for the leadership transition ahead. The work before us is significant, but so too is the opportunity. Together, we will continue to create the conditions where every student can thrive.
Thank you for your continued partnership, your belief in our schools, and your part in 200 years of educational excellence in Covington. Here’s to a strong year of learning, growth, celebration, and progress.
