Over the course of my service on the Covington Independent Schools Board of Education, I have remained committed to the belief that our district must continuously strive for excellence while remaining responsive and receptive to parents, staff, students, and the community at large. I believe strong leadership begins with open dialogue, transparency, and a willingness to truly listen. Every decision made by the board should be grounded in collaboration, thoughtful discussion, and a careful consideration of all perspectives and facts before action is taken.

As a board member, I understand that I serve as a trustee of the community. That responsibility requires accessibility, accountability, and a commitment to building meaningful relationships with all stakeholders, including district staff, families, and community partners. Anyone who comes before the board deserves not only the opportunity to speak, but the opportunity to be genuinely heard. I have worked to foster public understanding, strengthen community trust, and encourage greater participation in the future of our schools.

My efforts on the board have centered on strengthening the district’s long-term vision for equitable education by championing diversity, inclusion, and opportunity for every student. I firmly believe that no child is more important than another, and that the strength of our district lies in the diversity of the students and families we serve. Celebrating that diversity while ensuring all students have access to quality educational experiences has remained a guiding principle throughout my service.

In addition to governance, I have consistently advocated for innovation, community partnerships, student enrichment opportunities, and programs that support both academic achievement and personal growth. My goal has always been to help position Covington Independent Schools as a district where every child feels valued, supported, and empowered to succeed.
